Alzheimer’s Society Cupcake Day – 16th June 2016
The office team here at Care Relief Team don’t take much persuading to eat cake, so we jumped at the chance to celebrate the Alzheimer’s Society Cupcake Day on 16th June 2016. This seemed our perfect way to raise money for charity along with enjoying some nice buns and cake. We inviting our dedicated carers and our clients to join us on the day. With the promise of cake and the kettle on we received a good turnout. We raised a whopping £200 from the kind donations of our team and our clients. Not only did we raise all that for such a good cause, we ate some cupcakes on the day (and for a few days afterwards!).
Care Coordinator, Kelsey baked the most amazing chocoholics dream cake which received a lot of mouth-watering interest; we auctioned off this cake to the highest bidder at £25!
We were very pleased to learn that our donations could pay for a person living with dementia to attend one of the Alzheimer’s Society’s Dementia Cafés for two months, where they can share stories and advice with people who understand what they are going through.
Here’s a few photos from the day:
